Long Live Gerstmann

GameSpot, C|Net, and Larry Ashe,

I’m sure I’m not the first to tell you this, and I’m sure I won’t be the last. Today, I cancelled my premium subscription to GameSpot - which I’ve had for 3 years - because you have officially sold out and can no longer be trusted.

I’ve moved my flag over to 1up.com. The quality of your site has been declining since Kavasin left, and firing Jeff Gerstmann for calling it like it is due to pressure from Edios was the last straw. Don’t bullshit us, we all know thats exactly what happened. For firing an honest man, for disrespecting and lying to your customers, you will no longer get another dime or visit from me.

And, you know what? Thousands of gamers across the globe agree with me. I hope your precious ads make up for all the paying customers you have lost.

To any GameSpot reviewers reading this: quit. Quit before you are fired for calling it like it is, just like your editorial director was. Quit, partner up with Jeff, and make a new, independent, and honest gaming review site. Given all the publicity this debacle has caused, I can promise you thousands of visitors and subscribers.

Ashe, you’re truly despicable, and the last thing America needs is more dishonest suits. Please retire before you cause any more damage or destroy any more jobs.

Sincerely,

-Scott Nicholas
